When you are trying to survey lower income and minority groups, you have to understand that many people in those demographics are using pay-as-you-go phones and are being charged to engage with you. To get those groups to engage, you have to keep the costs as low as possible.

The same poll via web-to-text on VoteText is:
Tracfone: $0.04
Connect by T-Mobile: $0.01

By lowering these voters cost to respond it becomes much easier to sample them.
